He lifts his stare at me with a sigh.
“So, you want to go after her, son? She will be pissed for this though. No matter how much she loves you, she won’t take it that well. And if she’s in confusion over her feelings, she’ll give you attitude, that’s for sure. I don’t know yet the level of her love to you as I haven’t had the chance to see her these days to assess her, but I can tell you she’s not running from you this time. It’s hardcore problems there. When she promises something, she always keeps it. Only when something out of her knowledge happens, that’s when she can’t keep it. If she said she’d come back in eight hours, she probably had intel it’s something near this city and able to come back fast. They probably gave her last minute intel of change of sources and where the bigger issue is or whatever got involved in the process. She had no choice than following the trail and go and solve it fast. It’s either drugs or girls for prostitution. You know how it works.”
