Mika glued her eyes on the door, feeling stupid of her inner conflict. He was a beast, what did she expect. She had heard the stories about him. Thomas was known for his coldness and brute actions. Rare were the times when he had ever shown emotions. He did exile Michael without considering their relationship and bond. What was her to him to make an exception? She clenched the sheets under her hands, tears coming down in a silent river over her cheeks. Rage flamed her flesh and bones as she had hoped she was not alone in the world. She had hoped she could share her burden with someone, other than her mother, but she was wrong. She needed to be strong, on her own, and protect her weak mother, too. Her head touched the satin pillow. Sobbing, she fell asleep. Her energy needed to be restored. Battles were coming, and they weren’t going to be just a few.
